Stockton Truckers Back on the Job

Stockton, Cal., 15 September 2004 – Truck Drivers in the Central Valley, who are members of Motor Transport Workers Industrial Union 530 of the IWW are now back to work.

After the workers won 70% of their demands and made it a point to illustrate their dissatisfaction with the lousy working conditions in their workplace, the bosses caved after nearly three days.

The three days strike resulted in losses in the $10,000s for the company and they could not suffer much more.

A new contract was signed which included the new demands. Overall, workers’ solidarity and strength won out.
